Player Issues
« on: October 29, 2017, 07:08:04 AM »
Is anyone else having problems with the player launching from our websites? Did the code change?

Our listeners are getting this message: "Error: missing configs/%3C.php".

I tried posting a ticket on the SL website and it looks like it didn't work.

I'm having the same problem, plus some weird messages on some of SL's web pages.  I noticed it on Friday.  I also put in a ticket, but have not heard anything.  My ticket doesn't even show up on my broadcasters page.

I did some digging and experimenting and found something that works.  Here's what the previous code for my station's SL player looked like:

<a title="Click Here To Play" href="http://www.streamlicensing.com/play/player.php?sid=####&stream_id=#####"><img src="http://www.streamlicensing.com/play/buttons/14.png" width="250" height="100" style="border:none;"/></a>

The # symbol represents my station ID number and stream ID number.  You should find those in your current code and write them down.

Now replace the code above with this code:

<a title="Click Here To Play" href="http://player.streamlicensing.com/####?l&stream_id=#####" TARGET="_blank"><img src="http://www.streamlicensing.com/play/buttons/14.png" width="250" height="100" style="border:none;"/></a>

Again, the # symbol represents your station ID and stream ID.  Also, the "14.png" represents the particular button from SL that I choose to use.  You should check what your current code says and use the same.  This will open up the SL player in a new tab and immediately begin playing.  I'm not that familiar with HTML, so I couldn't get it to open in a new window.  Perhaps someone else will be able to help with that.

Until we here from SL, this will at least enable folks who visit your web site to be able to launch the SL player and listen to your stream.

I need to make one correction.  You should remove the TARGET="_blank" portion of the code.  StreamLicensing's terms of service require that your website must close when the player is launched.  My original code opened the player in a new tab or window, but did not close the original website.  By removing the TARGET code, your website will be replaced by the player website and you will be compliant.

I can't even log into the portal and the issue began at least for me on Saturday 10/28 which means it's now 4 days later and email explanation from anyone. Any word on when this will be resolved?

Here is letter I sent today...hopefully you will do the same...

"Hi Anthony, There are numerous questions that need to be answered regarding what is going on right now with Streamlicensing, other than "rumor" that you are migrating systems.

Mr.Bill (forum name) and others have figured out how to work around the Launch page failure...but the inability to contact anyone regarding any issues I.e.: reporting for the Month, Tech or Billing issues of any kind is highly disconcerting. I'm sure if that was done to you wouldn't like it.

Hopefully you'll respond or have someone respond to this on the Streamlicensing forum or via e-mail directly on the current problems at hand.

Respectfully. what so hard about keeping customers updated?"

Best regards,

David LaBonte

Support ticketing system appears operational :)
Just a heads up the system for submitting support tickets seems to be back and operational....just did a check to see if it would create ticket, then follow link to ticket number etc...all seemed to be operating as normal...
