Revenue & Expenses
« on: January 10, 2013, 12:44:14 PM »
I am currently in the testing phase for my new station (my first), but I am also trying to get my hosting and licensing needs figured out before signing up.

As I'm just starting out, and will be running 'commercial free', I don't expect to be making anything from this for the time being anyway. I'm not sure what to do as far as stating Revenue & Expenses.

Revenue will be effectively zero, but there will be expenses with regard to purchasing new music to include on my station. Should also estimate stuff like a portion of my electricity payments, etc?

Once I have signed up, will I be required to provide actual statements of Revenue and Expenditure, such as music service fees, music purchase receipts, etc?

We're not talking a fortune here, but I'm just looking for an idea of what to expect so I can try and get it right.

Any help would be appreciated!

Le gach deagh dhùrachd / with very best wishes,
Steaphanaidh.

I don't believe you have to report music purchases. Report things like your stream host fees and on-line servers and such. No electric bills.

Correct, Music Acquisition and Licensing Fees (StreamLicensing Fees if you affiliate with StreamLicensing) are not reported.

We have a report page you come to each month and enter the total of your reportable expenses and the total of your Gross Income. If no revenue, enter 0. The monthly fee is based on your ATH (listening hours) and the greater of your gross revenue or expenses.

Is there a list of expenses that are used to calculate the "expenses" portion of the revenue/expenses submission?

Is it only the stream expenses, or are there others, such as advertising?

Thanks!
