Coding for "now playing" and "just played"
« on: February 10, 2014, 11:34:11 AM »

Hi,

I found the coding for the now playing/just played, which is very nice, but it does not aesthetically fit in with my web page.  I am wondering if there is a way to change the size and/or aesthetics of it?  Is there a way to develop it from scratch, and if so, can someone point me in the right direction to find that information, or what to ask for if hiring someone to do that task?

Thanks very much

Well I can help with the "Now Playing" at least...

Here is a HTML code snippit I came up with to use on my own site. It displays a clickable StreamLicensing logo that opens to this site in a new window above the current song being played. It was loosely modeled after the "Now Playing" widget LC used to have. Fill in the "XXXX" with your sid number in your control panel station details:

Code: [Select]
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.streamlicensing.com" target="_blank">
<img alt="" src="https://www.streamlicensing.com/directory/images/streamlicensing-nlogo.png" /></a></p>
<p align="center"><span id="current_song" style="font-size: large; color: blue; font-family:

Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Loading...</span>

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.streamlicensing.com/directory/index.cgi?action=snippet_code">
</script><script type="text/javascript"

src="http://www.streamlicensing.com/directory/index.cgi?action=snippet&amp;sid=XXXX"></script></p>

Change the font color to anything you want.

Enjoy!  :)

Just looked at your site and I see that you are using WordPress. I had the same problem. I wound up using the Multicolor Theme. It has options so that you can resize the sidebar  and content areas. With this one, I edited the widget to a width of 350 (from 400) and left the content width at the default of 600. I also found a plugin called "WYSIWYG Widgets / Widget Blocks" that let me make my own widget blocks for the links I have on the right side. There is also a Black color option so you shouldn't have to change your overall motif.

Hope this helps

OP: Are you referring to the recently played widget where it shows artwork for each artist? If so, the only supported customization is the number of results to display. As someone else pointed out, you can manually tweak some of the iframe code settings for width, but that is not officially supported.

If you want a more robust widget that can display artwork, I'd highly recommend http://www.getmarci.com

I am running Marci and love it! There is so much you can do with it. Check out my Home page www.v103.net, and look at my launch page. BTW I am using Drupal.
