Where is the thread about StreamLicensing being Sold?
« on: April 05, 2016, 10:47:21 AM »
Found out through FB that Marvin has sold StreamLicensing to StarDome Media Group. I thought there would be something here because I believe the sale was done Monday 4-3-2016.

Not sure what this is going to mean for those of you still broadcasting with the SL license.

Best wishes to you all.

If you're a Stream Licensing customer you should have gotten an e mail. It was also written up on RAIN news. IMHO it's a good sign. If someone wants to invest in Stream Licensing there's probably something here.

Don't think I'll continue with them. I've had enough of sell-outs. First with Loudcaster and then Loudcity, now Streamlicening.
I'm sure it's a good thing for Marvin, but don't think it is for me.

Hi Jerry.
I was through the end of January with the expectation to re-up once I got some sponsors. However, they must have removed me from their email list.

Would someone be kind enough to post the contents of the email here or email to rooster@roosterradio.net .  I was on temporary hiatus until all of this got sorted out.  Thanks!

Well I'm not likeing what I'm seeing so far. And I also believe we will be forced to carry advertising spots. It just doesn't look good to me.

Agree. But that's the feeling I got just cruising around their sites. I don't like what I saw.

Links?  Google just brings up clear channel merger with StarDome, can't find nothing regarding advertising.

We are trying to keep your costs down.  Yes Ads do that.

I am not opposed to running ads-I'll run ads for any company which I feel is a good ethical business.
I know some people have a problem with it and I completely understand-I'm not judging. As a matter of fact I respect and admire the choice.
I know things are still new with the ownership change, but I may have a partial solution which might help those who don;t want to run ads which could be implemented in the future-especially given Stardome's reach:
One of the big reasons I stayed with Radioloyalty for so long was because of the choice of ads I had to run ON my station if not the player.
I ran all Ad-Council stuff. Basically PSAs like "Go to the Forest" "Get Your GED" etc...
I ran them because I felt it made my station and my brand look better.
I even left them in for a while when I knew nobody was listening via RL.

The ads on Streamlicensing ARE ALL family friendly. No beer, no sex, no condoms, they are all family/kid friendly.  The ads rotate in and out and because of the collective benefit of all broadcasters using the ad supported players to pay for THEIR per performance fees, it keeps the small webcasters in business.  The aversion to ads is illogical.  The ads keep your costs down.

Did you know the #1 most used passive/aggressive statement is "...some people..."  I can and will deal with you "some people' will need to state their opinion for themselves.
