Feedback and Experience with the New HTML5 PLayer.
« on: July 05, 2016, 02:07:55 AM »
So, right now I am still waiting to get back on Tunein so I can only listen via mobile with the new player on a mobile browser.
I first tried it when I was still on Tunein.
Now, in the past I have been told that there should be no difference in sound quality but the bass was deeper and the highs clearer on the SL player.
The only issue I had was my old iPhone 5 doesn't have the best antenna.
Today I tried it on my Blackberry Classic and had ZERO buffering or dropouts in over an hour driving all around Los Angeles.
The Album art displays are getting better all the time too.
I like how the track data displays as well. Most of the time it will post an album title along with the song-most mobile players and apps don't do that.
Not that anybody should care about that while they are driving...but for those listening on tablets or while just sitting around it looks really cool.
On the desktop player it looks even better. The connection has been really quick and solid even with my lousy (REALLY lousy) home connection.

My only questions are about the 'share' buttons.
I know the premium version has some upgrades, but I was wondering this:
It may be for legal reasons, but in the past with Tunein and other apps, when you hit the 'share' button for whichever social network you wanted to share via, I used to get a "now playing" hashtag with the song and artist.
Is this not legal anymore and if so, is there a way to alter that ability so it doesn't prompt stream-rippers to jump-in and start recording?

Hopefully someone will respond to you soon. I'm not familiar w/ the new players and all since I'm not webcasting at the moment.

I've never used the share button.  I don't have a definitive answer, but I don't think there would be any legal reason not to share what you are currently playing.  We are only restricted (by the DMCA) from announcing upcoming songs.

The share button is legal and will be an added feature in the future.

There is currently a share button-I was just concerned with upgrading it so it is less (for lack of a better word) generic.

IF you want more than "generic" we offer the Pro player for approximately $50. a year works out to $4.16 a month.

Is there a flash-demo or anything out there we can look at to see how it works?
Thanks.

Flash? There is a fallback to antiquated tech in the current player.  Why would you want that when the new player is HTML5?

I meant 'tutorial' like the tutorials found on the SL website.
So we can get a look at it and see how it works.
Sorry 'bout that. Poor choice of words.
