If you have questions, I have the answers or I'll find the answer for you.

So as the "profit" Pat Benatar said, "... Hit me with your best shot..."

Okay O Great One,

What must I do to get TuneIn to accept my .pls url which I find listed in my links.  I read through their qualified examples and it looks like I may need to create (or have written) the url in a different format.

Sorry, just a studio guy, not a code guy.

Thanks!

Hmmm .... TuneIn is not accepting the default launch page url either.  I tried the .pls with no luck.  My lack of understanding on the subject.

The bad news is that TuneIn isn't taking any new customers while
they restructure their platform.

What kind of restructuring is TuneIn doing?

All the information I have is that TuneIn is not taking any customers and the they are re structuring their platform.  The PROs want Tunen to pay PPF on top of the fees licensed station pay.  If you were Tunein what would you do with music stations in that situation?

Slap them full of commercials and watch the cash pour-in?
One of the longer-term positives of this is that the whole advertising thing is going to have to get more transparent.
Too many online media outlets like Youtube have been banking money and not sharing very well.
This could create some really good opportunities for us to bring in revenue.
I have always been very supportive of paying a share of revenue as part of the royalties.
I feel it makes all involved parties interested in the well-being of the producers.

Hi Max,

I think I read somewhere that if we put **** somewhere in the meta data it would not be counted towards our recorded listener hours. Except I can't remember the specifics. Could you repeat the information here please?  Thanks in advance!

I can answer that question.  It was in an email that Marvin put out some time ago.  If you put **** in the album field, that track will not be reported for licensing purposes (Sound Exchange).  It will also not count towards your listener hours for billing purposes.  I use it for all my PSA's, station promos, etc. (anything that is not a music track).

You can only use that on items that don't have a copyright. If the PRO's catch you using it for music related material they can fine you thousands of dollars. And I mean thousands.

Okay, here's one:
My auto DJ sometimes shows the same number of listeners as Centova but not the same IP addresses or country.
I'm trying to keep track of this for numerous reason not the least of which is rippers.
Is there a simple explanation for this or should I do some digging?

There were only 1-2 times this happened and it hasn't since.
At the time I didn't think to look to see if it corresponded with listeners flagged as rippers in Centova...but I haven't seen much evidence of ripping since and I kicked those IPs at the time of the incident.
IDK if that helps or not.
I check all my stats every day so if I see it again I'll let you know.
