Saying Good Bye Is Hard
« on: August 13, 2017, 01:45:48 PM »
Fellow Internet Radio Operators:

Due to some recent family developments, including burial expenses of a close family member, and other pressing needs, my retirement funds must be redirected away from my hobby.

Perhaps, I may return to my internet radio hobby in the future, but, for now, effective the end of the month, it is not possible to continue.

Thank you to Stream Licensing for the opportunity to legally operate.

Best Wishes to Everyone.

Gary.

If anyone who has stopped in to read my original message when I started this, "Saying Good Bye Is Hard" topic, is interested, I've been trying to figure out how to possibly continue my internet radio hobby:

I have opened a GoFundMe account in hopes of getting friends and relatives to chip in some funds to help pay for the remainder of burial expenses for my 71 year old sister, who we buried at the end of July, 2017.

So far, there hasn't been a great deal of response, and I could use the help of fellow internet radio broadcasters who may want to chip in a few dollars to add to the effort. Whatever you can give will be appreciated. If I can get enough response, it will go a long way to being able to keep GreatGold.fm Classic Hits internet radio up and running.

I will be 74 in December. As a former, small market, over the air personality and news person, I have a limited retirement income. I believe in paying the creators of music I play on my internet radio station and would love to continue doing so. If I can gain enough reimbursement for the remainder of the expenses of my sister's burial, I will be able to continue channeling some of my retirement income into my internet station.

Thanks Guys and Gals.

It's way harder to say good bye to internet radio than I originally thought. I missed it before I was even gone. I'm back playing the Classic Hits from the 1950s through the 2000s on GreatGold.fm.

Thanks to some kind words of encouragement from fellow Stream Licensing members and a few dollars slowly being raised toward a gravestone and final burial expenses for my sister. The giving is appreciated and eases the burden some.

I have also started up, anew, the Be A GreatGold Booster promotion at my GreatGold website in hopes that listeners will increase the internet radio stations financial picture. That, hopefully, will make it easier to support my internet radio hobby and pay the licensing expenses needed to legally operate.

I have revamped two website pages and created some Be A Booster related images to facilitate the promotion:

http://greatgold.fm/classic-hits/me/support-the-greatgold-music-stream/

Here's hoping the continued donations from good willed people wanting to help out with my sister's post burial expenses, and Classic Hit Lovers supporting the 24 hour play of favorite tunes, will, combined, ease the burden of my favorite retirement hobby.

Thanks for all of the interest by you guys and gals who have stopped by this topic on the forum.

Gary
